Trends in national biodiversity footprints of land use

Rising incomes (and associated expenditures) have been shown to be a major driver of environmental problems. Lately, several studies pointed break between the income and biodiversity loss on per-capita level. The increase in land-use efficiency is as key factor this decoupling. In work, we couple database that links land use potential impacts for ecoregions, multiregional environmentally-extended input-output available time series, high regional detail.
